Department Description:

The Sterile Processing team plays a critical role in patient care at Samaritan Health Services by ensuring that surgical equipment and rooms are properly prepared. The team is responsible for cleaning, decontaminating, disinfecting, and sterilizing surgical instruments and medical devices to eliminate bioburden and reduce the risk of healthcare-acquired infections (HAIs).

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and medical devices according to established protocols.
• Ensure proper decontamination, disinfection, and sterilization procedures are followed.
• Maintain a safe and sterile environment in the operating room and sterile processing areas.
• Collaborate with nursing and surgical staff to ensure timely availability of sterile equipment.
• Document sterilization processes and maintain accurate records for compliance.
• Qualifications:
• National Certification required (CSPDT or CRCST).
• Experience in sterile processing or a related healthcare environment preferred.
• Knowledge of infection control and sterilization standards.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
